NRLC promotes life skills training for independent living. Functional skills such as budgeting, grocery shopping, accessing transportation, leisure activities and vocational training are transferred gradually with consistent staff involvement. NRLC clients can realize their own potential, whether as in-house residents or as integrated individuals visiting pre-vocational sites, enjoying competitive employment, attending school or volunteering in the community. Independence gained through confidence will build motivation and champion a higher sense of self.
NRLC offers specialized treatment options in residential settings for individuals with behavioral challenges in need of a highly structured and safe environment. Predictable activities and experiential strategies allow individual growth that can transition to less restrictive, less supervised community living. Personality changes such as confusion, anger and aggression are minimized through coping skills, adaptive behavior and positive reinforcement of desired results. By addressing the whole individual, NRLC finds ways for each client to be at their best while interacting with family, friends and community.
Family Education
NRLC believes strongly that a family support system is critical to the success of any treatment or rehabilitation process. As such, NRLC conducts family education programs in parallel with all client care plans.
